Sunday, September 27th, 200910 questions to your potential wedding photographer. .
Sunday, September 27th, 2009So you've narrowed down the selection of potential wedding photographer. You must decide between two or three hours. They enjoy their work and have similar prices and packages. But are not sure who to hire. Prices are important, yes, of course, wants to investigate it. But once you pay a pretty good idea of the amount that you can expect that there are other things you should be too sure. . . What can you do to help make your decision? Contact the photographer, that your 'short list' and ask them to put the ten most important questions:
1: The photographs provided a detailed list blow and fill out before your wedding?
This list is valuable to you and your photographer. Find in this list, please fill in the name of the wedding party and family members so the photographer knows who is who, without having to take time from their wedding day to do extra exercises.
Then compile information about the different shots you want. Want photos of the wedding is getting ready? Bride and groom party? You want family photos before and after the wedding? Want to cut the cake pictures and signing of legal documents? How long you have the breakdown for each activity?
All (these details and information) may be weeks or months with the photographer booked in advance by filling out this hit list. This will ensure you and your photographer both know what to expect and how long you have for each position and activities. Things are so much smoother if things are processed in time!
2: If these are to rent, which will give you a free consultation prior to the date of marriage?
The answer to this should always be yes. Either in person or by telephone at least a couple of days before your marriage, you and your photographer should be a one-on-one discussion about the types of photographs have to imagine for your wedding day. Especially if you plan only after a formal photographs / presentation of bride and groom. Where do you want to do them? You want them to be facts, or if you want a little 'more relaxed? Do you have specific ideas in mind?
These are things you should discuss personally with the photographer so that you can clear about your vision and your desires for your wedding photography.
3: How long after marriage can you expect to get your photos? A rule of this standard is that everything within 60 days is appropriate. More than 60 days, it is not. If possible, obtain a quote on this in writing or e-mail (e-mail is sufficient) or the contract in your wedding photos.
4: The photographer portable lighting in case of bad weather or in case of a weak internal position?
They want to be sure, to someone who is taking to prepare for every eventuality. Although portable lighting is not very good for your ceremony (nobody wants the additional lights before the bride and groom throughout the ceremony) for all images presented, additional lighting can make a big difference, while a dark day or in a dark room. Of course, it can be used for outdoor ceremonies, connect the lamps difficult and sometimes dangerous, but if the weather is bad, you want to do your photos at home anyway.
5: Do they work in digital or film or both? Regardless of which offer of employment, they have prints or a CD-ROM images?
Today, most photographers work strictly in digital, then you would not even think to ask. But sometimes prefer to shoot a photographer on film or with a combination of both. It should be mentioned only in cases where there is a surcharge for the shot, the one in the film.
Digital photographers have the added advantage that you go with a CD or DVD with all your digital images instead of you having to use the expensive process of ordering prints from the photographer. Must provide a photographer, not the press that the additional costs in the amount of factor.
Selection and appointment of your print right where you like, is much more convenient for you. (Apart from the fact that many more environmental awareness).
6 is a very important thing to ensure that before setting any type of service or supplier for your wedding – and heard of this and the photographer – if you have a contract and receipts or invoices are they? Not addictive, that whoever does not offer some form of documentation for transactions. Contracts and invoices / receipts are for your welfare and safety, as well as rent for the operators and service providers to you. Always make sure you bring a signed contract for the payment of a security.
7: Ask your potential photographer if they are to request a booking fee / deposit? A professional photographer will need, expect, so say yes. The average professional photographer is usually rise no more than 20% for a deposit, sometimes a little 'less. This deposit of the photographer, the availability of date and time. It also ensures accurate services agreed.
8 Questions: Make sure that the reservation fee will be refunded the amount agreed for your wedding photography contract. The answer to this should always be "yes."
9: ask if you are required to pay the balance for your photos?
Some photographers invoice after the wedding, some require payment in full by the day. Neither is acceptable, but not rare, you should make full payment on or before the day of your wedding. This applies to the payment and cameramen.
10: Finally, remember to ask if the Photoshop retouching is included in the price of the photographer or charge for it?
In this age of digital photography, Photoshop (or an equivalent program) is exactly like a darkroom. Contrast and color corrected and adjusted. Stains are removed, the focus is sharpened, effects can be added, images can be produced in black and white and color.
The following changes made to photos is all part of the work of a professional photographer and you should not expect to pay extra for this service. If someone does not include this service in their prices photography, I recommend hiring someone who does not.
Now that you've done these 10 important questions, should be much easier to make a decision!
